The Best Free AI Courses With Certificates in 2026

Search for a free AI course with a certificate and you will find hundreds of promises. Most are free for a week, or free to watch with the certificate behind a paywall. This list is the other kind: courses you can start today, from the organisations that actually build the tools, where the certificate or badge at the end costs nothing.

What counts as a “free certificate” here?

Three things are called certificates, and they are worth telling apart:

• Certificate of completion: proof you finished a course. Free on most lists below. Good for LinkedIn and for your own motivation.
• Digital badge: a verifiable credential (often on Credly) that says you passed a short assessment. IBM, Make and several vendors give these free.
• Professional certification: a proctored exam, usually US$99 to US$200, from Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS or Salesforce. Employers weight these more, and they are almost never free.

If a job advert names a certification, you want the third kind. If you want to learn and show you did, the first two are enough, and they are free.
