Cocoon's free AI course in Singapore is a self-paced path through sixteen free, hands-on labs and tools — from training a tiny language model in your browser to building your first automation and agent — organised into four levels that take roughly twelve hours in total. It is free in the plain sense: no fee, no signup for most of it, no SkillsFuture claim because there is nothing to claim. Undergraduates can also join Cocoon's free four-week AI for Students programme online.

Level 1 · How it works

Two to three hours. You leave knowing what a language model is actually doing, and why it is confident when it is wrong.

Singapore has more paid AI courses per head than almost anywhere, most of them funded through SkillsFuture and taught in a classroom. This is the other kind: free, on your own time, and built around doing rather than listening. It suits professionals who want to understand AI before spending a subsidy on a certificate course, students, career changers, and teams who want everyone at a shared baseline before a corporate programme. If you later want a funded, certificated course, the registered providers on MySkillsFuture are the right place; this path is what to do first, and it costs nothing.

Yes. Every lab and tool on the path is free to use, most without signup; the seven Deep Learning labs open with one email address. There is no fee, no trial and no upsell inside the course. Cocoon's paid work is corporate training for teams, which is separate.
No, and you do not need to: it is free. SkillsFuture applies to fee-paying courses on SSG's Training Partners Gateway. If you want a funded, certificated classroom course afterwards, MySkillsFuture lists the registered providers; this path is a free foundation to take first.
Not for the self-paced path — it is built for skills, not certification, and saying otherwise would be dishonest. The AI Readiness Score gives you a before-and-after report you keep. Cocoon's cohort programmes, including the free AI for Students programme, do carry completion recognition.
