AI voices learned from thousands of hours of people talking, mostly in English. They hardly ever heard names like Thisara or Kurunegala, so they guess how the letters sound, like you reading a word you have never heard. Try spelling it the way it sounds, like "Thi-sa-ra".

What text-to-speech does
1. Your words go in. 2. The model works out which small sounds make each word, like "h-eh-l-oh". 3. It predicts a sound wave: about 24,000 tiny up-and-down numbers for every second. 4. The wave is packed into an MP3 file and sent back. The wiggly line you see is that wave.
